He is one of the most versatile actors in Bollywood. Rahul Bose is indeed an all rounder. He is actor, screenwriter, director, social activist, and rugby union player.

Biography:


Rahul Bose was born in Kolkata, West Bengal, India. His parents are Rupen and Kumud. His sister is Anuradha, who is married to Tarique Ansari who runs Mid Day Multimedia. He finished schooling at Cathedral and John Connon School, Mumbai and Studies at Sydenham College.
He started working as a copy writer with Rediffusion and left behind his job as a creative director for acting in movies.
Rahul Bose, with his mother's encouragement, took up boxing, rugby and cricket, for which he coached under former skipper Mansoor Ali Khan. He played at the Asian Rugby Football Union Championship as part of the Indian National team.
His first movie was Dev Benegal's English August (1994). It won the National Film Award for Best English Film. His next movie was Kaizad Gustad's Bombay Boys (1998) in which he played an Australian called Ricardo who comes to India to find his brother.
He teamed up with Dev Benegal again in Split Wide Open (1999) about the darker, hidden side of life, which is brought to the open in a television show.
In 2002 he did Aparna Sen's Mr and Mrs Iyer which was critically appreciated. He was seen in a light hearted comedy as a copy writer in Jhankaar Beats (2003). In Chameli (2003) his character encounters a prostitute played by Kareena Kapoor. Buddhadeb's Bengali movie Kaalpurush (2008) won a National Award for Best Film.
After this he was seen in Aparna Sen's 15 Park Avenue which also starred Shabana Azmi and Konkana Sen Sharma. His other movies were Pyaar Ke Side Effects (2006) and Maan Gaye Mughal-e-Azam with Mallika Sherawat, Shaurya (2008) and Dil Kabaddi (2008).
In Aparna Sen's The Japanese Wife he played the part of Snehamoy Chatterjee. The movie was based on a story written by Kunal Basu.
His performance was critically acclaimed in his latest film I Am.



Personal Life:


Rahul Bose formerly dated Koel Purie, who he directed in his film, Everybody Says I'm Fine! The couple remained good friends after their split, even appearing together in the 2004 film White Noise
